The CTM Skincare Ritual – Let your skin Breathe!!!

Hey Guys,

How’ll been doing. How’s the Corona Virus been treating you guys. Well down here in Singapore we are slowly entering into the PhaseII with lot of apprehension and excitement because all the parks / malls were closed down however PhaseII opens all this , I know my daughter is definitely quite excited about this even more than me .. Well getting in to the topic SKIN … I don’t know about you guys but this mask wearing has really affected my skin , I find that the breakouts have really increased , the skin has got dull , less shiny and seems more oily than ever .. I am someone who always goes walking for almost 1-2 hours daily so that entitles that I wear the mask for that entire two hours. And when I am back, I can also feel that my skin has felt the effects of bearing the mask the whole time.

Finally it took me close to two whole weeks to realize , I was going to have to change up my skincare routine to suit my skin and pump some life back into it .. I have never been one to follow a strict regime when it comes to skincare but this change in lifestyle was also never expected so we have to adapt ..I have always heard about the CTM skin routine but honestly never followed it to the root .. so I decided I would follow this religiously for about one week at-least to see the results and guys the transformation was amazing. so lets start..

What is this CTM??

  • C- Cleanse
  • T-Toner
  • M-Moisturize

The three golden rules for any skincare.

STEP 1 : Cleanse , I follow the double cleanse Method

Start with a good cleanser to cleanse the face and eliminate any dirt, dust , makeup , gunk on the skincare . I follow the double cleanse method. Using two different cleanser types to wash clean your skin. Use any facewash that contains oils , butters , natural cleansers this will help to retain the moisture of your skin and not dry out the skin completely

Introducing the two products

Eumora Miracle Soap Bar

The gentle formulation of this soap with its pH balance is well suited for any skin type and exfoliates the skin for thorough detoxification and cleansing . It contains HGA factor and Moor to restore the skin moisture .The Shea-Butter is the luxury factor in this soap. It is perfect for Oily skin , dry skin , and sensitive skin for both fair and dark skin. Simply wet your face and hands , rub the Eumora bar between your hands , lather nicely. apply the thick lather to your face , wait for atleast 3-5 mins before washing it off your face

Step II – Foam Cleanse – Aveeno Clear Complexion Foam Cleanser

What I love about this product is that it contains Salicylic acid with soy extracts which is a good acne cleanser specially for people with oily skin or prone to acne. This is a dermalogoist recommended product because it is so gentle for breakout prone skin. Again I recommend using products that have AHAs , glycolic acid , Salicylic acid for acne prone skin and oily skin.

  • Oil free
  • Non Comedogenic
  • hypoallergenic
  • can be used daily without over drying your skin

STEP II – Tone the skin – Eucerin ProAcne Toner

Toning is to wipe the skin with a toning solution / cooling solution. This is basically done to retain the moisture after the cleanse and to close any open pores. The product I have been using the Eucerin ProAcne Toner for my breakouts. It is an acne oil control toner which helps to clear the skin and reduce the acne breakouts

You can find Eucerin products on Shopee , Watson and Guardian Singapore

STEP 3 : Moisturize with Aveeno

The final step is to add some of the moisture and hydration back to the skin, I love to use Aveeno products because they work well for my skin. My fav Aveeno products are

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion with Dimethicone skin protectant – This leaves the skin hydrated for 24 hrs and relieves dry skin with soothing oatmeal. The cream is quite light and gets easily absorbed into the skin , I love the cooling effect it gives to the skin and instant hydration for the skin.

Aveeno Stress Relief Moisturizing – It Calms and relaxes the skin. It has Lavender, Chamomile and Ylang ylang which soothes the skin and reduces skin stress, Chamomile heals the skin.

You can find Aveeno products on Shopee , Watson and Guardian Singapore

If you follow these steps religiously everyday your skin will begin to clear and glow , skin flourishes when it can breathe freely and this means keeping it clean from dirt and grim.Let me know what are your thoughts on this ritual … Have you ever followed this routine .. What are your FAVORITE products to use ??

Leaving you all with this thought, common skin mistake is to continue usage of product that cause damage to your skin. The common tell tales are peeling, Excessive dryness, stinging, rashes and breakouts. If you see any of these signs on your skin then you know it is time to STOP using that product however good the advertising may sound.

NOTE : Just a quick disclaimer WHAT product works for me may not for you.. Dont forget to test patch before USE.

  1. The products you are using are so gentle on the skin. I have used tbe aveeno moisturizer and cant get enough of it.

  2. The skin too is affected by the lockdown like everything else, wearing masks and more time indoors has definitely had an effect. The CTM routine seems really effective.
